Valley Forge Women's Volleyball Rallies for 3-1 Victory on the Road

JAMAICA, NY – The University of Valley Forge Patriots women's volleyball team showed championship resilience on Tuesday night, bouncing back from a first-set loss to dominate York College (NY) in three consecutive sets for a 3-1 victory (14-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-16) at York College Gymnasium.

After dropping the opening set, the Patriots found their rhythm and never looked back.

Patriots Power Through

Leading the offensive charge was Outside hitter Unique Castilho, who delivered a stellar performance with 11 kills and three service aces, finishing with a team-high 15.0 points. Middle blocker Clarissa Lockman added muscle in the middle with 12 kills and three blocks, contributing 16.5 points to the winning effort.

The Patriots' defensive intensity made the difference, with libero Hadassah Rivera putting on a clinic with 28 digs while adding six service aces. Rivera's relentless hustle and court coverage kept York's offense at bay throughout the final three sets.

Turning the Tide

Valley Forge's turnaround after the first set was nothing short of impressive. The Patriots hit just .115 in the opening frame but steadily improved their efficiency, peaking with a .154 attack percentage in the decisive fourth set. Setter Mattayah Lyndaker orchestrated the offense brilliantly, distributing 25 assists while adding 11 digs for a double-double performance.

York was paced by Zia Lefebvre with 14 kills, but the Cardinals struggled with consistency, hitting -.031 as a team for the match.
