Men's Soccer Dominates Penn State-Schuylkill 7-0 at The Patriot Field

Phoenixville, PA – September 10, 2025 – The UVF Patriots men's soccer team delivered a statement performance on Wednesday evening, shutting out Penn State-Schuylkill 7-0 at The Patriot Field. The victory improves Valley Forge's record to 3-2-1 on the season, while Penn State-Schuylkill falls to 0-4-0.

Offensive Explosion Leads Patriots to Victory

The Patriots wasted no time establishing control, scoring four goals in the first half and adding three more after the break. The scoring began just 2:44 into the match when Edras Turcios-Valle converted a penalty kick opportunity.

Michael Kalapala led the Patriots' offensive charge with two goals, finding the net in the 23rd and 53rd minutes. Brandon Perez also recorded a brace, scoring in the 36th and 66th minutes with assists from Melvin Maldonado and Ben Singizwa, respectively.

Additionally, Jeremiah Cobham also added a goal in the 35th minute, while Melvin Maldonado capped off the scoring with a goal in the 86th minute to complete the seven-goal performance. 

Balanced Attack Showcases Team Depth

The Patriots demonstrated exceptional offensive balance, recording 33 shots compared to Penn State-Schuylkill's nine. Eight different players contributed to the scoring effort, with assists from Jeremie Tsouck Ibounde, Melvin Maldonado, and Ben Singizwa highlighting the team's unselfish play.

Defensive Excellence Secures Clean Sheet

The Patriots' defensive unit, anchored by goalkeepers Jayce Blanton, Brandon Thompson, and Zachary Older, combined for four saves to preserve the shutout. The defensive effort limited Penn State-Schuylkill to just four shots on goal throughout the 90-minute contest.
