UVF Names Taylor Dafoe as New Men's Volleyball Coach
Experienced Coach to Lead Both Men's and Women's Programs
Phoenixville, PA – July 23, 2025 – University of Valley Forge is pleased to announce the appointment of
Taylor Dafoe as the new head coach of the men's volleyball program, expanding his current role as women's volleyball coach. Dafoe will now oversee both volleyball programs, bringing his extensive coaching experience and proven track record of success to the men's team.
"We are thrilled to have Taylor take on this expanded role," said Director of Athletics,
Gretchen LeVan. "His dedication to developing young athletes and his comprehensive understanding of volleyball at all levels makes him the ideal candidate to lead our men's program while continuing his excellent work with our women's team."
Dafoe brings over seven years of coaching experience to his expanded role at UVF. Most recently serving as Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Salem Christian School, he led the team to notable achievements, including defeating a team they hadn't beaten in years while pursuing the program's first-ever state tournament appearance.
His coaching foundation was built during his time at Maranatha Baptist University, where he served as Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach for the NCAA DIII/NCCAA DII program. In this role, he managed practice drills, game strategy, and in-game statistics while helping develop student-athletes at the collegiate level.
Beyond traditional coaching, Dafoe has demonstrated exceptional leadership as Club Volleyball Director and Marketing Director at Push the Rock in Emmaus, PA, where he has overseen club operations, tournament registrations, and team development since 2023. His experience includes directing summer sports camps for youth across basketball, soccer, and volleyball from 2017 to 2024.
"I'm excited to bring my passion for volleyball and athlete development to University of Valley Forge's men's program," said Dafoe. "Having spent time playing soccer professionally in Europe, I understand the dedication and commitment it takes to compete at high levels. I look forward to building a program that develops not just skilled players, but well-rounded student-athletes."
Dafoe's athletic credentials include multiple Statistical Awards for Best Seasonal Performance in Men's Volleyball (2019, 2020, 2021) and a Scholar Athlete Award in 2021, recognizing his achievement as one of the few student-athletes with the highest GPA. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management with a minor in Digital Media Communications from Maranatha Baptist University.
"Taylor's combination of playing experience, coaching success, and communication skills makes him uniquely qualified to build our men's volleyball program from the ground up," added Director LeVan. Develop young talent and create positive team culture aligns perfectly with UVF's mission."
The appointment comes as the University of Valley Forge continues to expand its athletic offerings and strengthen its volleyball programs. Under Dafoe's leadership, both the men's and women's teams will benefit from his comprehensive approach to athlete development and program building.
The men's volleyball season will begin with preseason training in the fall, with the competitive season starting in January.
