Lopez Blasts Inside-the-Park Homer as Valley Forge Secures Fourth Conference Victory
SANATOGA, PA – April 18, 2026 – Pitcher Brandon Dalmado delivered another stellar performance on the mound, and the University of Valley Forge offense exploded for 13 runs on 12 hits as the Patriots defeated Wilson 13-3 to capture their fourth conference victory of the season.
Dalmado (5-2) was brilliant over eight innings, allowing just four hits and three runs (one earned) while striking out four batters in front of 75 fans on a beautiful spring day with clear skies and 73-degree temperatures. The right-hander threw 89 pitches and consistently kept Wilson's offense off balance throughout his dominant outing.
The Patriots jumped on Wilson early, scoring three runs in the first inning to take control. Juan Lopez started the rally with a single and stole home on a double steal with Zack Haines. Two batters scored on errors to give Valley Forge a 3-2 lead they would never relinquish.

Brayden Tunnell tripled and scored, Aaron Zapata walked and stole second, Joaquin Velez reached on a wild pitch strikeout and stole second, and Gabriel Murphy delivered the knockout blow with a two-run triple. Lopez capped the rally with an RBI groundout to make it 8-2.
The decisive blow came when Lopez crushed an inside-the-park home run to lead off the frame, his first home run of the season. Asijah Evelyn and Joey Demirjian followed with consecutive RBI doubles to extend the lead to 13-3.
Lopez was spectacular at the plate, going 3-for-4 with his inside-the-park home run, 2 RBIs, and a remarkable four runs scored while stealing three bases. The shortstop reached base safely in all five plate appearances and was a constant threat on the basepaths.
