The University of Valley Forge Thanks Coach Dominque Boone

PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The University of Valley Forge Athletics Department is thanking Dominique Boone for his service over the last two years in his roles as Head Men's Basketball Coach and Sports Information Manager as he accepts the position of Assistant Athletic Director and Head Boys' Varsity Basketball Coach at Westchester Country Day School in High Point, North Carolina.

Coach Boone's impact on the Patriots program has been nothing short of transformational. Taking over a team that had won just one game the season prior to his arrival, Boone led the Patriots to back-to-back United East Conference playoff appearances—a first in the NCAA Division III era for the program. His leadership brought a new standard of excellence both on and off the court.

In just two seasons, Boone guided the team to the second-most wins in a season during the NCAA era and instilled a relentless defensive identity that saw the Patriots finish back-to-back years ranked in the top 20 nationally in turnovers forced—15th in 2023–24 and 13th in 2024–25.

Off the court, Boone emphasized academics and personal development. Under his leadership, the team achieved the second-highest cumulative GPA in program history, earning NABC Team of Excellence honors for the 2024–25 season. He also helped develop an All-United East selection, two United East All-Sportsmanship Team honorees, and six NABC Honors Court members. Most importantly, Coach Boone leaves behind a lasting legacy of mentorship, having guided nine student-athletes to graduation during his tenure.

"Coach Boone has been a steady, culture-shaping for our athletic department and for the men's basketball program," said Director of Athletics Gretchen LeVan. "His commitment to growth, both on the hardwood and in the lives of our student-athletes, will have a lasting impact at UVF. We are proud of what he accomplished and excited to see him thrive in his new role."

Reflecting on his time at Valley Forge, Coach Boone shared:

"UVF has been a special place for me and my family. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead this program and serve this campus. What we accomplished together—on the court, in the classroom, and in our community—was built through faith, resilience, and a shared commitment to something bigger than ourselves. I want to thank Gretchen LeVan for her leadership, and I will leave with a full heart and deep appreciation for every student-athlete, coach, and colleague who made these past two years so meaningful."

As the University of Valley Forge begins a national search for its next head coach, Assistant Coach Phil Over has been named Interim Head Men's Basketball Coach. Coach Over has played a key role in the program's recent success and will provide continuity and leadership during the transition.

Boone now takes on a new challenge at Westchester Country Day School, where he will serve as Assistant Athletic Director and Head Boys' Varsity Basketball Coach. His return to North Carolina marks the next chapter in a rising coaching career built on character, resilience, and a passion for student development.
