University of Valley Forge Names Ross Adams as New Women's Basketball Head Coach

Former Patriots Player Brings Leadership Experience and Deep Understanding of Program Culture

PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The University of Valley Forge Athletic Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Ross Adams as the new head coach of the women's basketball program. Adams, a Scotland native and a 2025 graduate of UVF with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, brings a unique combination of playing experience, leadership skills, and institutional knowledge to the position.

"We are excited to welcome Ross into this new role," said Gretchen LeVan, Director of Athletics.  "His year as a student-athlete here at Valley Forge, combined with his work ethic and leadership qualities, make him an ideal candidate to lead our women's basketball program forward."

Adams played four years of NCAA Division III basketball for Clark Summit Defenders and UVF Patriots men's team from 2021-2025, where he developed strong leadership principles and gained firsthand experience with the demands of collegiate athletics. His playing career provided him with an intimate understanding of the University of Valley Forge's athletic culture and commitment to excellence.

"I'm honored to have this opportunity to give back to the institution that has given me so much," said Adams. "Having been a student-athlete here, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with competing at Valley Forge. I'm eager to bring my leadership experience and passion for the game to help our women's basketball program reach new heights."

In addition to his playing experience, Adams has demonstrated his commitment to developing young athletes through his work with youth basketball programs. He has coached basketball for Dunfermline Regin youth teams and assisted at youth basketball camps at Clarks Summit University, showcasing his ability to mentor and develop players at various levels.

Adams also brings valuable operational experience to the role, having served as Athletic Facility Staff at UVF since 2024, where he has been responsible for maintaining athletic spaces for over 500 students and 150 student-athletes. This experience has given him comprehensive knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the athletic department.

"Ross has consistently demonstrated the qualities we look for in our coaching staff," added Director LeVan "His adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills will serve him well as he builds relationships with our student-athletes and develops our program."

Adams is known for his collaborative approach and ability to thrive in dynamic environments. Throughout his academic and athletic career, he has shown a commitment to excellence and a dedication to helping others reach their potential.

The appointment comes as the University of Valley Forge continues to build on its commitment to providing student-athletes with exceptional coaching and support. Adams will officially begin his duties immediately and will lead the team through the upcoming season.
