Women's Cross Country: Champions of the CSAC

Patriots win 1st ever Conference Title as NCAA Member

RESULTS

Bryn Athyn, PA
- On Saturday, the University of Valley Forge Women's Cross Country team decisively won the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship. Making history by winning their first ever CSAC Conference title, and even more impressively, this is Valley Forge's Cross Country program first conference title since entering the NCAA in 2016.

Head Coach Jimmy Stevenson had some remarks on the day, "This victory goes beyond a cross country team. Our win is an athletic department and institution win. I'd imagine we had the most fans out on the course cheering on our student-athletes, and that's a testament to what these runners are brewed in, an environment of support and sacrifice."

The Women's team dominated by scoring 44 points in their historic victory. Their 37:38 average pace was a full 4 minutes faster than the second place team.

Individual Accolades were also won on this day, as Hannah Kopec won the 2022 CSAC Women's Runner of the Year. This was well deserved after not only finishing in 1st place in this championship race, but also being named CSAC Runner of the Week 4 times this season. Coach Stevenson was also recognized on Saturday, as he won the CSAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year award.

After a monumental day for everyone, Stevenson had this to say about the team, "The victories are nice, but they will come and go. It's so special to see our guys and gals give praise to Jesus for the gifts and desires He's blessed them with. The greatest joy I have as a coach is seeing my team run not for their own glory, but for His Glory Alone. HGA!"
