Aston, PA – The University of Valley Forge Baseball team traveled to Aston, Pa. on Tuesday afternoon for a single 9-inning matchup against the Knights of Neumann University. The Patriots fell to the Knights 18-1.
Valley Forge went down early as Neumann secured three runs in the first inning. The Knights' rally continued in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth inning with tallying a total of 13 additional runs. The Patriots were able to sneak in a run in the top of the eighth after a
Thomas Bost triple and an
Allan Goodwin RBI single up the middle.
Valley Forge collected 1 run on 5 hits. Neumann secured 18 runs on 20 hits, and 16 RBI's.
The Patriots will look to bounce back on Saturday, March 27
th, as they travel to Clarks Summit University to face the Defenders at 2:30 / 4:30 p.m. In their last meeting, the Patriots and Defenders split the evening.
