Dover, DE – The University of Valley Forge Women's Basketball team fell to the Wolverines of Wesley College, 67-43.
Amaya Brown paced the Patriots with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Carlee Conrad notched an additional 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
"Results of this game certainly weren't in our favor," head coach
Gretchen LeVan shared. "This team focused on each other and fought till the end. We couldn't seem to get anything to fall, however, Amaya and Carlee carried us in the point column. I am proud of this team!"
After an 8-0 run in favor of Wesley to start of the contest, Valley Forge pushed to keep in close, trailing by 10 at the end of the first-quarter. With a few Patriot injuries, Wesley claimed a 22-point entering the half.
In similar fashion, the Patriots struggled to compete with the talented Wolverines allowing Wesley a game-high 34-point lead in the third-quarter. Although the Patriots were able to cut down the Wolverines' lead, Wesley came out on top 67-43
The Wolverines outrebounded the Patriots 70-25, posted 30 points in the paint and 26 second-chance points.
The Patriots shot 13-61 from the field (21.3%), 6-31 from behind the arc (19.4%), and 11-22 from the free-throw line (50%).
Valley Forge will have home court advantage on Thursday as they host the Nittany Lions of Penn State Brandywine at 7 p.m.
