Phoenixville, PA – Valley Forge fought to hold onto their momentum, but could not acquire a substantial run, falling to the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy University 3-0 (15-25, 18-25, 9-25).
The Patriots (2-6) looked to their defense most of the match, but the Griffins (5-4) would control net play and reclaim the lead in every set.
The Griffins caused the Patriots problems as they tallied a .202 attacking percentage, collecting 34 kills, and only committing 11 errors. Valley Forge couldn't find their footing offensively as they hit a -.032 clip, merely gathering 14 kills with 17 errors.
Kaitlyn Hess led in all areas for the night with 5 kills, 3 service aces, 6 assists, and 23 digs.
The Patriots close out their week in Dallas, PA, as they will compete in the Misericordia tournament on Friday and Saturday. Valley Forge is set to face SUNY Oswego, York College, Elizabethtown College, and SUNY Cortland.
