Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Women's Volleyball team dropped their home opener to the Nittany Lions of Penn State Brandywine in straight sets (22-25, 8-25, 14-25).
Valley Forge struggled to find rhythm and consistent flow for the night. The Lions were able to hit .163 for the match as they limited the Patriots to -.132. With a significant amount of attacking errors (23), five serving errors and fifteen reception errors, the Patriots would not be able to keep with the Lions. Penn State held a 27-13 kill advantage, as well as a 15-7 ace benefit.
"Last night wasn't how we expected to play", first-year head coach
Jessica Rink shared. "We let our nerves get the best of us. We saw our mistakes and we will be ready to bring our 'A game' to the table on Wednesday."

Kaitlyn Hess led the Patriots once again in kills (5), aces (2), and digs (11).
Hannah Hawryluk tallied six assists.
The Patriots will look to get back into the win column as they host the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy University, Wednesday, September 18
th at 7 p.m.
