Patriots Earn First Win of the Season

Patriots Take a Game in Double Header vs Chatham 

Myrtle Beach, NC. – The University of Valley Forge Men's Baseball team continues there trip to the Ripken Experience. The Patriots split games with the Cougars in a double header with scores resulting in 13-11 and 0-3. 

 

Game 1

Game one was a high powered offensive game that had a total of 24 runs, 13 of which came from the Patriots as they bested the Cougars. The entire Patriots line up was able to get at lest one hit as Jagger Blough and Cody Rak combined for 6 RBIs in game one. Cody Rak's single to center field late in the fourth inning is what put the game away for the Patriots. The batting for the whole team was amazing as Jeffery Espinal, Joseph Aguiar, and Cameron Rivera all had 3 hits each. On the pitching side Joseph Aguiar led the team to its first victory doing so with eight strikeouts to his name, Michael Nizinsk took the lose for the cougars. 


Game 2 


In the second game the Patriots were unable to carry over the high powered hitting that they saw in the first game. This in combination with some great pitching from Bryan Crawford led to the 0-3 defeat of the young and talented squad. Bryan Crawford got the win, Zachery Nunnery took the loss. 

Coach Brian Algeo when asked on the first win of the season said "Getting our first win always feels good. Our newcomers are adjusting to the speed of the game and progressing nicely. Im proud of how we have been battling. This team doesn't quit. " 
 

Whats Next?

The Patriots will be continuing on at the Ripken Experience. There next game will be Saturday, March the 9th at 1pm, vs Mount Aloysius College
