Rosemont, PA– The University of Valley Forge Women's Softball team traveled away to play the Rosemont Ravens for the Patriots season opener. The Patriots loss both games, 0-17 and 1-10.
Game 1
The Patriots took a tough loss in game one losing by 17 runs, in large part due to the fantastic pitching by the Raven's. This in combination with the lack of hitting led to a one sided first game. Despite the team struggling Abigail Foor was able to get two hits on three at bats in the game. The win goes to Christina Broccolino for the Ravens and the loss goes to Lindsay LeSueur for the Patriots.
Game 2
The Patriots struck first in game 2, off of an RBI from Kaitlyn Hess. Unfortunately, this did not carry on into the later innings, due to some great pitching from Taylor Carter. For the Ravens the win goes to Taylor Carter, and the loss for the Patriots goes to Carlee Conrad. This is only the first showing for the team, and provided them with a chance to get up to speed. We look forward to what the rest of the season has in store for the squad.
