Patriots Fall Short to Gators

Baltimore, MD. – The Conrad duo both dropped double-digits in the 89-74 loss against the Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland in Marion Burk Knott Sports Complex on Friday night.

Senior Carlee Conrad notched a team-high 25 points, going 7-18 from the field, 2-4 from behind the arc, and 9-12 at the charity stripe, as well as collecting 8 solid rebounds and 3 steals. Cayleen added 20 points in her full 40 minutes of play, hitting 7-9 from the field, and 2-5 from three-point land. The Conrad pair were followed by Kaitlyn Hess who tallied 11 points as she went perfect at the line (6-6).

"It was a hard fought battle," head coach Gretchen LeVan noted. "We executed parts of our game plan, but we fell short of executing the full plan. We will bounce back and be ready to compete on Monday."

With an even first-quarter play, the Gators slowly crept away with the lead, as sophomore Daija Fitchett posted a career-high 25 points. As a team, Notre Dame hit 32-64 from the field (50%), 7-19 from behind the arc (36.8), and 18-36 from the free-throw line (50%).

The Gators posted 47-32 advantage on rebounds, while collecting 7 blocks. However, Valley Forge forced 26 turnovers, ranking them third in NCAA Division III in forced turnovers (34.20 per game).

The Patriots will continue their road venture as they travel to Centenary University on Monday, November 25th for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
