Alea Flowers and first-year
Shaelynn Newborn combined for 22 points in the 74-51 loss against the Cyclones of Centenary University on Monday night.
Carlee Conrad added 10 points and 6 rebounds, while
Cayleen Conrad notched 9 points and 3 steals.
"With a limited roster, we kept fighting in this game," head coach
Gretchen LeVan added. "We knew we had to limit their second-chance opportunities, but couldn't come up with the rebounds. I'm proud of how we didn't stop fighting. We will get back to the grind and fight to finish this semester off well."
The Patriots and Cyclones stayed close in the first-quarter with a 21-16 score, however, the Cyclones would break away in the second-quarter, outscoring the Patriots 23-12.
With a comfortable 16-point lead, the Cyclones remained in control, scoring 20 points in the third. Although the final quarter was quite slow for both squads, the Cyclones claimed the 74-51 victory.
The Cyclones hit 46.4% from the field, knocking down a season-high eight three balls. Centenary was led by sophomore Taylor Bossert who collected a game-high 17 points.
Centenary out-rebounded Valley Forge 59-22, securing 19 second-chance points.

th at 6 p.m.
