Phoenixville, PA – A goal in the 95
th minute would be the deciding factor in a matchup against the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton on Friday afternoon. After coming back from 3-1, the Patriots would ultimately fall to the Bobcats 4-3.
With the first-half in high motion, the Patriots would strike first with a goal from
Carlee Conrad, assisted by
Cayleen Conrad, forming a 1-0 lead within the first five minutes. The Bobcats would respond in a timely manner, finding themselves on the board two minutes later. Bryant & Stratton would extend their lead to 3-1 from goals in the 27
th and 34
th minute. With the first-half soon coming to a close, the Patriots rallied to earn a score at 43:51 from
Cayleen Conrad.
Down 3-2, the Patriots found a sense of urgency within the second-half of play. Each team demonstrated exceptional defense, however the Patriots would tie the match from an
Audrey Scadden penalty kick in the 68
th minute. Tied 3-3, the Patriots and Bobcats gathered a few crucial scoring opportunities, but neither were able to connect, sending the match into overtime.
With the golden goal rule in affect, both teams were determined to score first. However, the Bobcats would finalize the match 4-3 with a score at 95:06.
