Phoenixville, PA - The University of Valley Forge Men's Soccer team (5-8) fell early to Penn State Beaver (9-4) on Friday afternoon, allowing three goals in the first half with no success in making a comeback.

With the match in full swing, the Lions would see promise with a quick goal in the 2
nd minute of play. The Lions held their tempo and took control of the field, only allowing one shot by the Patriots. The Lions extended their lead 2-0 with a score at 23:10. The Patriots were able to push through the defense to gather two more shot attempts, but Penn State would capitalize off of a steal to sink another shot at 25:16. The Lions continued to attack the net until the half came to a close with the Lions holding a 3-0 benefit.

The Patriots came out in the second half with a much tighter defense and consecutive saves on goal. However, Valley Forge would find no luck in scoring and finish the game by giving the Lions an upper hand in a 3-0 victory.

The Penn State Lions posted a total of 42 shots with four saves, while the Patriots were able to secure 9 shots and 12 saves.
