Phoenixville, PA - The University of Valley Forge Women's Basketball took on FDU-Florham on Monday evening.  Playing short-handed, the Patriots fought hard and never quit.  At the final buzzer, FDU Florham took down UVF by a final score of 81-52.  

Three Patriots logged a complete 40 minutes of action on Monday evening.  Cayleen Conrad (Pine Grove, PA) led the Patriots in scoring with 16 points.  Haven Mayhew (Bingham, ME) added 12 and Kaitlyn Hess (York, PA) recorded a game high 10 rebounds for Valley Forge.

FDU-Florham's 25 first quarter scoring barrage made the score 25-7 after the first period.  Facing a big deficit didn't stop the Patriots from trying to get back into the game.  Valley Forge held their own and matched the Devils point for point in the second quarter.  After two periods of play FDU-Florham led 30-16.    The Devils opened up their biggest lead of the game when they used a 21-10 third quarter.  UVF started the 4th period on fire.  Thanks to back-to-back three pointers from Kaitlyn Hess and Haven Mayhew, the Patriots opened the 4th quarter with a 13-2 run.  UVF would outscore Florham 22-19 in the final frame.  It was a tough and gutsy effort by Valley Forge on Monday evening.  The Patriots, however would fall by a final score of 81-52.
