Washington, DC – The Patriots Women's Basketball team traveled to our nation's capital for an afternoon matinee with the Trinity Washington Tigers. The Patriots had little resistance in picking up their 5th win of the year. UVF cruised to an 88-29 win.
The Patriots started fast and never let up.
Amaya Brown made layup on a fastbreak after picking the pocket of a Tiger. Moments later, UVF scored on back to back buckets from
Jhanel Brown and
Lindsay LeSueur. Brown's first bucket would be just one of many on the afternoon. When the clock hit zero,
Jhanel Brown would score 34 points and gather 15 rebounds. Valley Forge continued to pour it on. The Patriots scored 16 unanswered points to lead 22-1 with 2:45 remaining in the first quarter. Trinity Washington added a 3-pointer with just under two minutes to make the score 22-4 after 1 period of play.
Thanks to
Jhanel Brown's 12 second quarter points, the Patriots put this game away very early. At the Half, Valley Forge led 44-11. Every Patriot scored in the contest. UVF dominated in every statistical category. The Patriots had 60 points in the paint compared to 4. UVF was able to turn 32 turnovers into 36 points. Valley Forge outscored Trinity Washington 33-14 in the second half to win easily by a final score of 88-29.
