Schuylkill Haven, PA – The University of Valley Forge Women's Soccer team traveled to Penn State Schuylkill on Saturday afternoon for a game against the Nittany Lions. The Patriots offense came alive and Valley Forge won big by a final score of 9-0.
Emily Hinton got things rolling for the Patriots when she received a pass from
Ashley Depointe. Hinton beat the Lion keeper for the Patriots first goal. Depointe was then rewarded by
Cassidy Fields. Fields found
Ashley Depointe who scored her first goal of the year. Fields was again feeling generous. This time she found
Alondra Hernandez-Garduno. Hernandez-Garduno put the ball in the back of the net for first of many goals. After 1 half of play, the Patriots led 3-0.
The second half belonged to the Patriots. Valley Forge wasted little time putting more goals on the scoreboard.
Carlee Conrad scored her first goal of her career on a pass from
Cassidy Fields. Fields finished the game with 3 assists. The scoring onslaught continued for Valley Forge.
Alondra Hernandez-Garduno scored her 2nd goal in the 54
th minute. She wasn't done yet. Alondro scored again in the 81
st minute to complete the hat trick.
Emily Hinton picked up her 2
nd goal of the game in the 83
rd minute. Hernandez-Garduno scored her 4
th and final goal off of an assist from
Carlee Conrad and
Olivia Strohm finished the Patriots scoring with a goal in the 88
th minute. The Patriots finished with 9 total goals to pick up their first win on the season.
