Brooklyn, NY – The University of Valley Forge Women's Soccer team traveled to Brooklyn, NY to take on the Cougars of Medgar Evers College. Playing under the lights, The Patriots dominated both sides of the field in a blowout 7-0 win.
A big credit goes to the Patriot defense. UVF only allowed a total of 1 shot throughout 90 minutes of play. MEC had no corner kicks throughout the contest. This was the team's 2
nd shutout of the year.
It did not take long for the Patriots to get on the scoreboard.
Alondra Hernandez-Garduno's first goal came in the 13
th minute when she put the ball past the Cougar keeper. The Patriots lead was 1-0. That opened the scoring floodgate. Three Patriots put the ball in the back of the net in the first half.
Carlee Conrad,
Emily Hinton, and
Haven Mayhew all got in on the action. After 1 half of play, UVF led 4-0.
Much like the first half, the Patriots started fast as the second period began.
Emily Hinton scored her 2
nd goal of the game in the 56
th minute.
Giselle Rojas took a corner and the Cougar defense was unable to clear the ball. Hinton's goal made the score 5-0. Moments later,
Alondra Hernandez-Garduno added her second goal of the game and
Giselle Rojas got onto the score sheet for her first goal of the season. The Patriots walloped the Cougars by a final score of 7-0.
