Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Women's Soccer team welcomed the Cannoneers of Pratt Institute to UVF on Saturday afternoon.  The Patriots picked up their third win on the year by beating Pratt 3-1.

Pratt jumped out in front early in the first half.  The Cannoneer's Erin Lutz made a steal inside the box and scored the game's first goal.  Pratt led 1-0 and would hold onto the lead for most of the first half.  In the 38th minute, the Patriots got on the scoreboard.  Alondra Hernandez-Garduno scored her 8th goal of the year to tie the game at 1. The first half ended with a score of 1-1.

The Patriots played a strong second half.  UVF wasted little time putting another goal on the scoreboard.  Alondra Hernandez-Garduno placed a beautiful low cross to the far post.  Cassidy Fields received the cross and flicked the shot past the out stretched arms of the Pratt keeper for the Patriots 2nd goal of the game.  Valley Forge would add an insurance goal late in the second half.  Emily Hinton found a streaking Haven Mayhew.  Mayhew outran the Cannoneer defense to score her second goal of the season and give the Patriots a commanding 3-1 lead.  Valley Forge came away with their 3rd win in their last 4 games to improve to 3-3 on the year.
