Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Men's Soccer team played host to the Highlanders of Cairn University on Wednesday afternoon.  The Patriots limited the Highlander attack in the second half but it wasn't enough as UVF fell by a score of 4-0.

The Highlanders scored 3 goals in the first half.  Brendan Keller put the first goal on the board for Cairn.  The ball deflected off of a Patriot defender and Keller put the ball away.  Cairn scored off of goals from Paul Franco and Brandon Hasko.  Velkin Escobar nearly converted on a shot from 20 yards out but the ball sailed just over the crossbar.  Cairn went into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
 
The Highlanders put another goal on the board in the 52nd minute to make the score 4-0.  UVF tightened on defense and held Cairn scoreless for the remainder of the game.  Velkin Escobar nearly put another shot away but the ball nailed the crossbar and went out of play.  UVF continues to battle in each contest and will look to get back into the win column on Saturday, September 22nd when they face off against the Cannoneers of Pratt Institute.
