Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Women's Basketball Team played host to the Tigers of Trinity Washington University on Friday evening. The Patriots cruised to an 89-27 win in their home opener.
Three Patriots scored in double figures. Senior
Jhanel Brown (Westmoreland, VA) led the Valley Forge offense with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Freshmen
Cayleen Conrad (Pine Grove, PA) added 15 points while
Carlee Conrad (Pine Grove, PA) had 14 points and 5 assists.
UVF never trailed and led by as many as 62 points at one point during the contest. Leading 5-2 in the early stages of the first quarter,

Carlee Conrad nailed a three to start a 22-5 run that gave the Patriots a commanding 27-7 lead with three-minutes remaining in the first quarter. Trinity Washington used a 5-0 run to end the first quarter. The Patriots led 32-14 after one period of play. The 32 points were the most points Valley Forge has scored in a single quarter this year.
UVF continued to pour it one during the 2nd period.

Amaya Brown made a layup to give UVF a 37-14 lead at the nine-minute mark. Valley Forge outscored Trinity Washington 26-4 in the second quarter. At the half, the Patriots led 58-18.
In the second half, Valley Forge only allowed 9 Tiger points between the two periods. UVF shot 44% throughout the contest and went on to cruise to an 89-27 win in the Patriots home opener.
