Aaron Hill free throw and fastbreak layup from
Arthur Wilborn the Patriots were able to trim the Gopher lead to 9-8. Goucher answered with a trey from Steven Quintero. Quintero's three seem to ignite GC. The Gophers went on a 14-4 run over the next 5 minutes to build an 11-point lead. The Gophers continued to shoot the ball well and sub in and out 5 guys at a time. At the end of the first half, Goucher led by a score of 43-27.
Goucher College held a double digit lead for the 10 minutes of the second half. With the Patriots trailing 56-42, UVF needed to get their offense going with time starting to dwindle. After a layup from
Isiah Tisdale and a Tipin by
Aaron Hill, Valley Forge trailed by 10. The two quick Patriot buckets led to a 9-1 UVF run to bring the Patriots to within 6 with 10:57 left to play. As quick as Valley Forge was able to gain the momentum, Goucher took it right back. The Gophers answered with an 8-1 run to bring their lead back to 14 at 65-51. The 8-1 Gopher run seemed to take the wind out of the sails of the Patriots. Goucher would hold on and win by a score of 77-63.
