Phoenixville, PA – The University of Valley Forge Women's Volleyball team welcomed the Lions of Albright College to UVF on Tuesday evening. The Patriots fell in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 25-18.
UVF came out in the early stages of the first set and surprised the Lions. Valley Forge battled back from a 3-1 deficit to take a 4-3 lead thanks to a kill from
Hannah Hawkryluk and two Albright errors. From that point on, the Lions took control of the set. Albright used a 10-1 run to run away with set #1 (25-13). Set #2 was almost identical to set #1. The Patriots kept the scoring close but with the set score at 14-12 in favor of the visitors, the Lions put together an 11-1 run to win game #2. Throughout the third and final set Albright continued to control the net. The Lions recorded 14 kills and 2 service aces in the final frame. Albright went on to win set #3 by a final score of 25-18.
