Phoenixville – The University of Valley Forge Women's Soccer returned home for an afternoon contest against the Bears of St. Joseph's College. Valley Forge dropped the home contest by a score of 9-0.
The Patriots and Bears were locked in a defense struggle for much of the first half until about the 26 minute mark when St. Joseph's picked up its first goal. The Patriots defense continued to hold, with a highlight reel save from
Taniyah Faison. Faison went to the ground, saving one goal but leaving an open goal in the process. With an opportunity to cash in quick, the Bears' number 19 shot on the open goal, when it was dramatically batted away from Faison who never gave up on the play, hustling from the ground on one side of the goal to the other to make the save.
Eventually, the Bears would go on to close out the half with two more goals. They would go on to pick up six more throughout the second half. UVF fired five shots throughout the game, one of them coming on goal. St. Joseph's attempted 42 shots, with 22 of them being on the mark.
