Box Score Phoenixville, PA - The University of Valley Forge Women's Volleyball team opened their 2017 season by hosting the Tigers of Trinity Washington University. The Patriots cruised by winning in straight sets.
Game 1
Megan Freed did her best to make sure that her team would not be denied their first win of the season. Freed opened the game with 4 Aces and 2 kills in the first 9 points. The Patriots reeled off a run of 9 straight points. Junior
Lindsay LeSueur closed out the first game with 5 straight service points that included 3 service aces.
Game 2
Megan Freed again took control of the game. She opened the second game serving to 11 straight points. Freed accumulated 8 service aces in the span of just 11 points. Before Trinity Washington knew it, they were down 12-0. After the Tigers tried to claw their way back into the game by going on a short 5 point run,
Kaitlyn Hess put an end to their run. Hess reeled off 6 straight points that included 4 service aces of her own. With an overpowering offense, the Patriots won game two by a score of 25-9.
Game 3
The third and final game was all Valley Forge. Trinity Washington had no answer for the Patriots. UVF built a 20-4 lead thanks in part to
Hannah Carter. Carter reeled off 8 straights points to give the Patriots a 20-4 lead. In that span, she had 3 service aces. The Tigers were never able to handle her serve. Just like game 1,
Lindsay LeSueur served to close out not only the game, but also the match. LeSueur finished off Trinity Washington to secure the win. The Patriots won the match in straight sets 3-0.
