PHOENIXVILLE, PA- SUNY Polytech came in and took both games of the double-header on Friday from UVF. They won by scores of 21-3 and 12-0 in a weather shortened 5 inning game.
Game 1In Game 1, the Wildcats scored early and often. The only inning they did not score was the 6
th. They would capitalize on 9 Patriot errors to cruise to a 21-3 victory.
The Patriots 3 runs came in the bottom of the 4
th.
Waldo Odens Jr. would lead off the inning with a single. After a fly out, Jon Manning would then single to make it first and second with 1 out.
Joey Gacesa then would single loading the bases. Up to the plate
came
David CastroWard who singled to drive in both Odens Jr. and Manning. After a
Jared Spiro single, the Patriots capped off their scoring on a Daniel Lyons RBI single.
Jon Manning went the distance on the mound, striking out 6 Wildcat batters. He along with
Waldo Odens Jr. also led the team in hits with 2 each.
Game 2The Patriots looked to bounce back in game two. Again, errors continue to plague the Patriots. In a weather shortened game, they still managed to commit 5 errors. The Wildcats scored 5 in the 1
st and 7 in the 2
nd for the final of 12-0 in 5 innings.
James Jackson and
Jonathan Canoy managed the only 2 hits for the Patriots. 8 of the 15 Patriot batters struck out in the game.
Eddy Palacio pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief striking out two and walking none.

The Patriots next game will be Sunday, April 3
rd when they host Penn State Berks. The start time for the DH is set for 2pm.
