ST. DAVIDS, PA-The UVF Baseball Team traveled to the campus of Eastern University Wednesday, for a single game. The Eagles entered the game with a record of 8-10-2, and 3-4 in the MAC conference. The Patriots have 1 lone win this season.
Eastern jumped out early as they scored 4 runs on 3 doubles in the bottom of the 1
st. The 2
nd was all the offense of Eastern would need as they plated 8 more runs to make the score 12-0 after 2. 6 hits, 2 walks, and 2 errors in that inning produced those 8 runs. The Eagles added 2 more in the 4
th, 6 in the 5
th, and 1 more in the 6
th for their 21 runs.
The Patriots did not record a hit/run until the 6
th. An error by the Eagles right fielder allowed
James Jackson to reach first with two outs.
Waldo Odens Jr. then would single to center to make it 1
st and 2
nd. Then
Shelton Gray would single up the middle scoring Jackson.

One highlight this year has been the play of Freshman
James Jackson. Jackson caught 1 inning on Wednesday, making him play all 9 positions on the field this year.

The Patriots will return to action on Sunday, when they host Summit University in a double header starting at 12pm. The game was moved from Saturday due to the pending snow storm. Â
