2nd Quarter Hurts Patriots

PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The 7-3 Chargers of Lancaster Bible College traveled to Phoenixville Tuesday night, for a match-up with the Patriots. The Patriots were coming off two home wins and looking for their third straight.
The 1st quarter was fairly even. The Patriots held the largest lead of 4, and the Chargers largest lead was 2, but by the end they were all tied up at 18-18.

According to Patriots Head Coach Gretchen LeVan, "the 2nd quarter was the changing point of the game." She couldn't have been more right. The Chargers would go on a 12-0 run to start the quarter. Aubrey Folger would score 17 of her 23 first half points to give the Chargers a sizeable lead. The Chargers outscored the Patriots 31-9 in the 2nd quarter, and went in at the half up 49-27.

In the 3rd, Lancaster would continue to build their lead, going up by as many as 33 at the 6:43 mark. Aubrey Folger would cool down compared to the first half, but Katy Stover and Shanice Smith would be all the offense Lancaster needed.

The 4th quarter was much of the same, as Lancaster Bible would go on for the 83-61. Folger would lead all scorers with 27. Stover and Smith had 18 and 15. With the win the Chargers improve to 8-3.

For the Patriots, Jhanel Brown recorded yet another double-double scoring 19 points and bringing in 11 rebounds. Mikala Brinson was next in scoring with 17. The Patriots fall to 5-7 on the season.
