BRYN ATHYN - The Patriots took on the Bryn Athyn Lions for the second time this year. In the opening game of the season, the Lions defeated the Patriots 2-0. Playing on their home turn for this contest, the Lions used a big second half run to beat Valley Forge, 5-0.
It was a tale of two halfs for the young Patriots squad. Holding their own in the first half and only yielding one goal, the Patriots looked poised to stay with Bryn Athyn for the majority of the game. However, in the 54th minute the floodgates opened for the Lions. They exploited the Patriots back line and scored 4 goals over the next 16 minutes.
The shot advantage in the first half was 4-3 for the Lions. However, the second half saw them outshoot the Patriots 15-1.
It was a tough loss for the Patriots who were seeking revenge, but they will have to rebound quickly as they have a home match-up against PSU Brandywine on Thursday, September 17th at 4PM.
