PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The University of Valley Forge Men's Soccer team was defeated 6-0 by Emory & Henry College on Friday afternoon.  The Patriots fell behind 2-0 in the opening 20 minutes and could not mount an attack to get back in the game.

The Wasps' Jordan Couch opened the scoring in the 12th minute as he was left alone in front on a Pierce Moreland cross.  A few minutes later, Moreland doubled the tally after the ball fell to his feet in the box when the Patriots were unable to clear a free kick.  Late in the first half, the Wasps pushed the lead to 3-0 and took all the momentum into the halftime break.

For the game, the Wasps outshot the Patriots 27-7.  Patriots' Goalkeeper Alan Verone Jr. did his part to keep the team in the game, piling up 13 saves on the afternoon, including many impressive quick-reaction stops.

In the final 20 minutes, the Wasps tallied on three more goals as the Patriots pressed forward trying to get a goal of their own.  The final score was 6-0.

The Patriots have a quick-turnaround as they travel to rival Summit University on Saturday afternoon.  The women's soccer team will also play Summit on Saturday.  The double-header starts at 1pm.
