READING, PA - The University of Valley Forge Baseball Team went up against Penn State Berks on Friday afternoon. Although the Patriots first three batters combined for eight hits, the defense could not keep pace with the Lions. The final score was 20-3.
Defensively, the Patriots had 10 errors for the game. The mistakes were too much to overcome on this day.
Senior first baseman
Bryce Koch continues to produce at the top of the lineup. With another stellar effort, going 3 for 4 from the plate, Koch raised his batting average to .351 for the season. He has 7 hits in his last 12 plate appearances.
Freshman
Matthew Buckery has proven to be one of the most consistent players for the Patriots. He went 3 for 5 from the plate and raised his batting average to a team leading .418 for the season. Buckery has 7 hits in his last 11 plate appearances.
Senior
Joshua Strohm also had two hits on the day, including a triple and run scored.
The Patriots will play their fourth game in three days on Saturday as they travel to Wilmington, DE to take on Wesley College at 6PM.
