CLARKS SUMMIT, PA - The University of Valley Forge Baseball Team traveled to Baptist Bible College on Saturday to take on the Defenders in an East Region match-up. 

The two evenly matched teams traded runs in the 1st inning of game one.  WIth Bryce Koch and Joshua Strohm in scoring postiion, Jared Boothman got one through the right side to give the Patriots an early 2-0 lead.  However, the Defenders countered with two of their own runs in the bottom half of the inning to bring it back even.  They continued their momentum in the 3rd inning, bringin in three more runs, to build a 5-2 lead.  The Patriots were unable to respond as the Defenders continued to build on their lead.  Baptist went on to win game one, 11-3.

In game two, again the Patriots got off to a great start, leading 2-0.  They carried the lead into the fourth inning, but a critical error in the field led to a big inning for the Defenders.  Rather than holding the lead, the Patriots were now trailing 5-2.  Similar to the first game, they were not able to respond at the plate.  Baptist held on to win, 5-2.

The team has a quick turn-around as they play at PSU Brandywine Monday afternoon at 4pm!
