PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The University of Valley Forge Women's Basketball Team played against the Cedar Crest Falcons on Monday, February 16th. After a very close first half, the Falcons pulled away in the second half and won by a final score of 58-41.
A 3-poiner from
Madison Arrowsmith gave the Patriots an 11-8 lead in the early going. A few minutes later, with the game tied at 13-13, Patriots'
Shequoya Bonner provided a spark off the bench. She hit back-to-back jumpers, followed by a layup from
Bailey Mayforth to give the Patriots its biggest lead, 19-13. Mayforth led the Patriots in the first half, scoring 12 points and grabbing 4 rebounds. Still trailing by six, with 7:04 to play, the Falcons began playing lock-down defense. They closed out the half on a 12-3 scoring run and went into the locker room leading 29-26.
The strong defense continued from the Falcons as they opened the second half on an 8-0 run. The Patriots did what they could to close the gap, but every time they got close, Falcons' Bronna Lewis would come up with a big play. She scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Cedar Crest. The shooting woes continued for the Patriots, and the Falcons went on to win, 58-41.

Bailey Mayforth finished the game with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Amanda McGinness had 6 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.
The Patriots will travel to Summerdale, PA on Wednesday, February 19
th to take on Central Penn College. This Saturday will be Senior Day for the Patriots as they take on Davis College @ 2PM.
