PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The Patriots looked to build off their first win yesterday as they hosted the Nittany Lions of Penn State Beaver. Despite playing to overtime, the Patriots would lose 3-2 against a Beaver team who came into the game with a 9-4-1 record.
It took until the 29th minute for the game's first goal to arrive. Lamont Wright gave the Nittany Lions a 1-0 lead at 29:33. A few minute later the Patriots would strike back as Brandon Nyekan would score knotting the game at 1. Just over a minute later it would again be Brandon Nyekan that would score his 2nd goal of the game on an assist from Kevin Carbajal giving the Patriots the 2-1 lead. The score would remain that way going into the half.
In the second half the Nittany Lions would tie the game in the 72nd minute on a goal by Julius Illiano off of a penalty kick. No other goals would be scored sending the game into overtime.
Early into overtime in the 91st minute Penn State Beavers Brandon Golonka would net the game winner. The Patriots outshot the NIttany Lions 15-13.
The Patriots next game will be Tuesday, October 20th as they host Penn State Hazleton. Game time is scheduled for 3:30PM.
