PHOENIXVILLE, PA- It was a great day for the University of Valley Forge Men's Soccer Team, and especially for its seniors. The Patriots recorded their first win of the season as they defeated The King's College of NY, by a score of 3-1 on Senior Day.
The Patriots would open up the scoring early, as
Brandon Nyekan scored in the 7
th minute making the score 1-0. The score would remain that way going into the half.
Early in the 2
nd half The King's College would tie the game at 1. The Patriots would fight back 20 minutes later when
Kevin Carbajal scored assisted by
Brandon Nyekan in the 67
th minute. The Patriots would secure the win with a goal at 84:41 by
Chase Hill assisted by
Kevin Carbajal.
The Patriots outshot the Lions 16-6.
Alan Verone Jr. recorded 3 saves in his first collegiate win in net.
The Patriots will remain home as they face Penn State Beaver Sunday, October 18
th. Game time is set for 2:30PM.
