PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The University of Valley Forge women's basketball team played against Trinity Washington University on Sunday, January 25.  The Patriots fell behind early, and could not rally to get back in the game.  They lost by a final score of 64-47.

The Patriots had a lot of trouble scoring in the opening half as, Trinity jumped out to a 9-0 lead at the 13:36 mark.  Valley Forge was unable to get anything going on the offensive end, and had a lot of difficulties rebounding the basketball.  Trinity out-rebounded the Patriots 35-14 in the first half, including 15 on the offensive side.  The extra opportunities allowed Trinity to jump out to a 30-12 lead at halftime.

Valley Forge came out strong in the second half, going on an 8-2 scoring run and bringing the margin down to 13 (33-20).  However, this was as close as they would get in the second half as Trinity continued to pound the glass and take high percentage shots.  Trinity was led in scoring by Camileai Collier, 13 points.  Blessing Hayes (12 points) and Myesha Green (10 points) also scored in double figures.  Trinity pulled away and cruised on to victory, 64-47.

Patriots' Mikala Brinson had a game-high 17 points.  Teammate Patience Ekuta also had a strong second half, scoring 13 points for the game and grabbing 6 rebounds. 

The team will look to shake this one off and get ready for a rematch on Tuesday night at 7PM.  They will travel to Bryn Mawr College, who they beat 36-33 just two weeks ago!
