In their third game of the season, the women's soccer team hosted Cedar Crest College, Wednesday, September 03. In a 0-9 loss, the women were pushed to the limit on defense being forced to play the majority of the game in their defensive zone.
Throughout the entire game, the Cedar Crest Falcons broke down every line of defense the Lady Patriots put up. Outmaneuvering the host school, the Falcons set up precision attacks, primarily to Lady Falcon #20, Courtney Long, who recorded six of the team's nine goals.
Offensively the Lady Patriots struggled to advance the ball down the field. Anytime the women started to put together an attack they were stonewalled by the opposing defense, which then created opportunities in transition for the Lady Falcon playmakers on offense.
Goalkeeper
Amanda McGinness faced 48 shots, stopping 21.
The Lady Patriots hit the road for their next two games, competing in the Cedar Crest Soccer Classic, September 6-7. The women are first matched up against City College of New York on September 6 at 1PM.
Go Patriots!
