BUENA VISTA, VA- The University of Valley Forge men's soccer team competed against Southern Virginia University in their first stop of a two day road trip. On Friday, September 19, the Patriots went up against the Knights and were shut out by a final score of 0-8.
It was a lop-sided game as the Knights protected their home field, tallying a total of 35 shots (18 on goal) and allowing just three total shots from UVF.
The Patriots were able to contain the Knights until the 14:11 mark when the host school recorded their first goal by Erik Gutierrez. The Knights recorded two more goals by the end of half while restricting the Patriots to a single shot on goal.
As the teams returned to the second half, the damage continued as the Knight's dominated the field, recorded an additional five goals before time ran out. The Patriots broke free of the Knight's defense along enough to take two shots but neither were on target.

The team travels to Front Royal, VA, tomorrow, Saturday, September 20, for their final game of the week. The Patriots will compete against host school Christendom College at 2PM.
