BRONX, NY- The men's soccer team traveled to Bronx, NY to compete against Lehman College. The Patriots were able to record a single goal at the end of the match but couldn't undo the six goals recorded by the Lightening.
After allowing two goals in less than 10 minutes, the Patriots tried reformed their defensive lines to keep the Lightening from creating open shots but faced a relentless offensive attack with the host school posting 26 shots before the end of the first half.
Coming into the verse of the match, the Patriots felt the fatigue of playing an entirely defensive first half. Despite facing only 14 shots, the men saw themselves give up four goals in the second half to go down, 0-6, with 20 minutes left on the clock. The game ended on a more positive note as a series of nice passing and good communication led to the Patriots notching a goal of their own from
Kevin Carbajal, denying the Lightening a shutout.
The Patriots take a small road trip down to Virginia for a two expedition, taking on Southern Virginia University and Christendom College. The men will compete against Southern Virginia on Friday, September 19, with a start time of 5PM.
Go Patriots!
