BRYN ATHYN, PA- The women's basketball team traveled to host school Bryn Athyn College, Monday, February 17, to play the Lady Lion in one of their final regular season games. The women hoped to start their week the same way they ended the previous one, with a victory. Unfortunately, it would be the Lions who would start the week with the victory, defeating the Patriots, 90-45.
The women couldn't see to get free from the gate, letting the Lions take a 25-8 lead within the first ten minutes of play. Recovering just didn't seem to be an option for the Patriots as the scoreboard glowed 48-21 in favor of the Lions as the teams headed into the locker room.
After the break the Patriots struggles continued, as they shot just 31% from the floor and were out-rebounded 17-29. From start to finish the Lions had the Patriots outplayed and clinched a victory in their final home game of the season.
In the loss,
Amanda McGinness recorded 16 points with nine rebounds.
Mikala Brinson had 10 points with three steals, while Jerlyn Ellis grabbed eight boards and four steals!
The women immediately return to the road for their final road game of the season against Bryn Mawr College. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, at 7pm.
Go Patriots!
