JOHNSON CITY, NY- The Patriots traveled to Davis College, Wednesday, February 12, to compete in their second game of the week. Just as the game before, the Patriots held their own, going basket for basket with the Falcons until the host school found a way to pull ahead of the visitors and take the game, 79-56.
It's been the same story for the women all season long. The first ten minutes showed promise as the Patriots pressured the Falcons, staying within three points. Then the errors started to pile up and the Falcon's lead got bigger. Going into the half the Patriots faced a deficit of nine points, 23-42.
After the break the Patriots started to push the ball and clean up their shooting, but with the turnovers weighing them down like and anchor the women remained in the hunt. Time finally gave out on the Patriots and the Falcon's walked away with the lead.
In the loss, sophomore forward
Amanda McGinness recorded another double-double, notching 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Mikala Brinson nabbed 13 points along with six steals.
The Patriots return home for their next match against NCCAA East Region competitor Cairn University. The game is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, with a 3 pm start time.
Go Patriots!
