SUMMERDALE, PA- The women's basketball team hit the road, Tuesday, February 11, to play host school Central Penn College. Despite staying neck and neck with them for the majority of the first half, the Patriots let their errors get the best of them and lost 61-89.
The Patriots put up one of their best fights of the season in the first half, forcing six lead changes within the first ten minutes.  Every time the women made an error they were able to regain control of the game by forcing the Knight's to take poor shots and sloppy passes to grab the turnover. At the 12:17 mark the Patriots hit foul trouble and were forced to sit several of their starters.  The Knights were able to play off the new rotation and confuse the offense and find the holes in the defense to go on a 19-3 run against the visitors. Going into the locker rooms, the Patriots faced a 23-point deficit, 23-47.
Returning from the half, the Patriots were able to regain their rhythm and stay right on the heels of the Knights, as both teams shot 66% from the floor. Even with all their efforts, the Patriots' were unable to over their errors from the first period and could not overtake the Knights.
In the loss
Patience Ekuta recorded her first career double-double. Ekuta scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.Â
Mikala Brinson tallied 23 points with four assists and three steals.
The women return to the road, Wednesday, February 12, to play Davis College. The game is set to start at 5 pm.
