PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The Patriots played host to the Berkeley College (NJ) Knights in their final game of the week. Overpowered on defense, the Patriots faced a battery of shots that did not cease until the final whistle blew.
It only took a minute and forty seconds for the Knights to make their presence known with Juan Faciolince recording the team's first goal off of a cross from Bryan Costa. Continuous precision passing allowed the Knights to stay in Patriot territory recording three more goals by the end of the first half. The Patriot's offense was denied the chance to defend their home field as they were kept from taking a single shot.
As the half came underway, the Patriots refused to go down without a fight and started to poke holes in the Knight's seemingly impenetrable defense. Despite improved play, a short bench allowed little rest for the Patriots as the Knight's traded in their lineup and improved their lead with five more goals. Near the end of the period it looked as though the Patriots would gather a goal with a free kick from
Ryon McGinness but a whistle signaling off sides erased the single goal and put the Patriots back at zero. With time ticking down the men were unable to capitalize on their passes and their win streak was snapped with a 0-9 loss.
The men look to rebound as they compete against Delaware Valley College, Monday, October 7. The home game is set to start at 4PM.
Go Patriots!
