Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Lukewarm

WILLIAMSPORT, PA- The women's volleyball traveled to Pennsylvania College of Technology, Thursday, October 16.  The Lady Patriots were plagued once again by old habits and started off the match on a slow note.  Unable to make a full recovery, the women dropped the match, 0-3.

Nothing seemed to come together for the Lady Patriots as poor serve reception trickled into every aspect of the game.  The women appeared to be playing safe as the majority of attacks coming across the net were free balls.  Not able to finish the ball the women gave up set one, 14-25.

Set two showed signs of life for the Lady Patriots as they started to correct their errors but continuing to play safe worked against them as it gave multiple opportunities for the Wildcats to attack.  The team couldn't contain the aggressive attacks from the host school and ended set two, 11-25.

As set three got underway the women started to come alive.  Denying the Wildcats the kill both with blocks and digs the team stretched out each rally.  Olivia Wireman worked her front line moving the set around to throw off the blockers.  Despite the improved effort the Lady Patriots appeared to be no match for the well-oiled system of the Wildcats and finally yielded set three, 17-25.

The team returns to The Pit for their final home game of the season.  The Lady Patriots will play host to The King's College, Saturday, October 18 at 11am.  The team will give honor to their two seniors, Aubrie McQuown and Kayleigh Smith.

Go Patriots!
