PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The women's basketball team initiated the spring semester hosting Keystone College, Sunday, January 05. The Giants earned the win but newcomer
Rachel Guerrieri and freshman forward
Ariene Ohimor set the stage for an exciting second half of the season, tallying a combined 31 rebounds.
Returning for the first game of the spring season after resting for nearly a month, the Patriots looked to shake the dust off and compete against a very quick tempo team. The Patriots were slow to adjust to the Giants pace, quickly trailing by double-digit points, allowing the visitors to cruise to victory, 85-37.
Coming off the bench and making an immediate impression was freshman forward
Rachel Guerrieri. Guerrieri, who took first semester off, displayed strength and force at the boards, grabbing 10 rebounds along with five points, two blocks and one assist! As the season continues, her abilities and skill will only grow stronger.
Ariene Ohimor once again showed her dominance on the floor, tying her personal best of 21 rebounds.
Mikala Brinson recorded 13 points in addition to five assists and one steal.
The women travel down to North Caroline to compete in the Piedmont International Classic, January 9-11. The Patriots start their classic facing Salem College, Thursday, January 9, at 7 pm.
Go Patriots!
