SALEM-WINSTON, NC- The women's basketball team competed in their first road game of the 2014 season against Salem College, Thursday, January 9.  The Spirits forced the Patriots to commit double digit turnovers, easing them to a victory.

The Patriots were dominated on both sides of the court, failing to run their offense to compete with the Spirits.  With VFCC facing early foul trouble, frequent substitutions limited their chances to get into a rhythm even further.  The game ended with a final score of 28-93.

The Patriots compete in the second game of their road trip, Friday, January 10.  The women go up against the Pensacola Christian College Eagles at 5 pm.
