NEWARK, NJ- The Valley Forge Christian College men's soccer team faced another loss on the road in an evening game against Berkley College, Saturday, September 28. The Knights kept the Patriots scoreless while recording seven goals of their own.
The Patriots faced 48 shots from the Knights, taking just 12 for themselves. Undeterred by the score, the men fought together as a team, Matt Robinson and Josh Wolf finally returned to the field from injury, providing tough defense and holding a strong line. Matt Mckenzie put tremendous effort into the offense but was thwarted close to the goal several times.
"Despite the score, we played as a team the entire time. The score can't always reflect the effort that is put into each play." stated Head Coach Vernon Dorsey.
The men travel to Lancaster, Pa. on Tuesday, October 1 to compete against East Region rival, Lancaster Bible College. The Chargers and Patriots face each other at 3:30 pm.
